Over all it's great. This is my first of this type of head unit.A bit tricky at first to navigate around, and I would say if you're not that "electronically inclined" then it will take a lot of reading of the manual. I'm one that likes to figure things out for myself. The only issue I have that still needs to be addressed is the Blue Tooth. I can hear everyone fine, it dials fine, connects fine, but no one can hear me. I think the issue is with the mic itself. The touch screen works great and seems pretty accurate in its response to where you touch. The "blackout screen" feature is awesome and a nice touch. All you do is bring your hand close like you're going to adjust the volume and it comes right back on. This is an adjustable feature. If you know who to buy from, you'll realize that both units are more or less the same price. However, the fact that the JVC unit had a detachable screen and came with the bluetooth adapter convinced me that it was the unit for me.I've now had it for about a week and I am completely convinced that it is the best unit I've owned so far. I owned the jvc kw-avx820 and the new jvc kw-avx830 is way better!! The old 820 model is so bright and when driving, this 7 inch monitor is pretty distracting even when dimming it on the lowest setting. With the new 830, it has a blackout feature so after like 8 seconds or so the screen completely turns black and still plays music. You can set it to whichever you preffer so when I play movies I dont use the blackout feature. Highly recommend getting a square trade extended warrantee just in case something happens to your monitor, they wrote me a check and is how I just got the 830. Also I recommend buying a bypass so you can watch movies. The one thing I dont like is that this model doesnt come with a remote, you have to purchase it separately. The old 820 unit came with a remote. Best detachable monitor out!!! |
